Passenger seatbelt sensor
Hey guys, I ran some searches, didn’t find much so wanted to get your feedback.
When I set my iPad on the passenger seat (sport seats) or something fairly light, I get a fasten seatbelt warning. It seems like it should take more weight than that to set it off. Is the sensor that picky in your X1? Thanks! -Steve 2015 X1 35i MSport // BMS intake |

Yes. Mine is very sensitive also. Sunglasses even set mine off. I have noticed a bad connection at the passenger airbag light. It will flicker sometimes. It doesn’t really bother me.

Depends where on the seat. I can rest my briefcase on the seat with the majority of its' weight further back, in the crease between the backrest and bottom cushion, and have no issue. If I place my phone up closer to the windshield on its' own it sets off the sensor. Extremely annoying.

Same.... I just bought the car a few weeks ago and just setting my phone on the seat will set off the fasten seat belt chime. I'm surprised at how sensitive the sensor is.

I noticed this too but I think it has something to do with the phone cellular transmitter perhaps. I can put a full baby bag and laptop on this seat and I'm ok....a grocery bag with a few water bottles not so much but that's to be expected. but my iphone6splus throws the fasten seat belt every time...if I turn off cellular transmitter, no more fasten seat belt....
