N20 timing chain preventive replacement

I've still got thru the end of July for the extended coverage on the timing chain, but has anyone done an out-of-pocket preventative replacement yet?

If so, what did it run to have it done?

I'm starting to toy with the idea of moving to an M235 or M240, but this is one of those things that I'm thinking of keeping as a back pocket option if I hold onto the X1.

Replacing the timing chain on a 2012 to 2015 X1 x drive as preventive maintenance will cots about $4,600 in New Jersey, dealer or specialist repair both. 7 year extension is up for me at 1/1/20 with 63K miles????
