I had the same problem with iPhone but when I tried connecting with Samsung the problem solved itself. It looks like almost all BMW's don't like iPhones because of many other issues with charging and using the loudspeaker system. Try using phone with android and if this fails, contact an authorized service center.

Mine came with an iphone caddy that connects to the car. IIRC it sat in the middle compartment. I promptly removed it as I have no use for it. It's left on a shelf in the garage.

If you are looking for a cheap and easy solution, a FM radio transmitter will create a bluetooth connection to your device, then project radio waves that you can listen to. They're usually $20 or less.
Otherwise, these infotainment systems are just starting to get obsolete, and there's not a lot that can be done without a complete replacement. Keep in mind that the technology in the factory system came out at the same time as the iPhone 5. |
