Ftp Charge pipe and boost pipe help

I just recieved my kit in the mail, and right now, I'm trying to put on the charge pipe, and the c clamp? So basically, i've pushed d twisted it and thats how far it goes, wont budge to go into the slot either, and the clamp cant even lock it in place because it doesnt go far enough. Has anyone had this issue, and or how would I go about solving this? I've tried to use water as a lube for the o ring to maybe see if that was the issue. It wasnt.

I'm considering at e84 but the DP options seem elusive. FTP didn't even register a search. Disappointing because that is what I have on my e92. And the fit was perfect

I ended up getting the FTP. It actually went on with less issues than my e92. I didn't even need to remove any internals. There is more room in the engine bay to get your hands in there. Slightly presses up against the power steering bracket though.

If possible, go with the 35i platform, the N54/55 is much better than the N20 imo, i regret purchasing the 28i, but i'm going to have my fun with it, as its my first car

Good to know.

I'm holding off to see what comes out of the N20 timing chain settlement hearing in July before I decide spend anymore on the car.

Sorry, whats happening about the timing chain? Is BMW getting a lawsuit for the timing chain issue in N20's?

The lawsuit here in the US dates back to I think 2017. There is currently a court date set for 7/13 that per the wording says "in person conference to approve the settlement".

I could be misinterpreting this, but I read that to mean that there is a settlement plan that is ready to be reviewed by the court and all parties.

I hit the time limit for the current extended warranty coverage (7 years/70K miles) at the end of July. So what comes out of this will play a large part in determining if I keep the car or not.

There's a long thread on this over in the F30 forum https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1614899

I haven't started test driving anything yet, but I've already started my research into what I would want to get should the call be to get rid of the X1.

Highly unlikely the next car will be a BMW.

If I was looking to buy today I would probably go the "slow car fast" route with an MX-5 or more likely a BRZ/86.

Won't do an old used car. It needs to be a reliable daily driver that can also be tracked.

I'd consider a Type R, but pushing 60 the boy toy wing is just way too much for me

Although I definitely prefer RWD or RWD biased AWD.

I wanted to like the M240, but my Honda Pilot has more road/steering feel than any current generation BMW model
