Pushed back headlight switch

Other day I accidently hit my knee on the headlight switch and it pushed back. I was so worried and called the dealership. They said it is by design meant to do that and told me to pull the switch back. It's there to protect the switch or prevent injury to the driver.

Since I always leave the headlights in the Automatic position - pushed-in almost seems to be a preferred position for the switch!
