I don't frequent this forum a lot, but I did run across all of the threads related to the X1 N20 timing chain issue and it breaking causing the engine to seize.

While at the dealer for other issues, I made mention to my SA about what I had read. He agreed to check out the chain. They said it had a little play in it and went ahead and fixed it under the extended warranty to 70K miles.

Good thing, since we have 63K on the clock and plan on keeping this car for quite a while.

Again, thanks to this forum, I got the repair done within the warranty and don't have to worry about it moving forward.
