Valve Cover leak

My X1 is a 2013 and has about 70K miles do you guys think I should replace the valve cover as a whole or just the gasket? any brand suggestions? do I also replace the oil cap? as you know replacing that is time consuming.... thanks

I did mine around 65k and replaced the cover, gasket and bolts altogether.

Did you buy the Kit or just the cover with the bolts? did you replace oil cap?

I had a local Indy shop do it for me all with OEM parts. The parts cost more than the labor so it was worth it to me. No I didn't replace the oil cap. Previously had a leak from the oil filter housing though and had that gasket replaced

BMW just did all mine as it was slightly leaking and dripping onto the exhaust manifold causing a burning smell. I have a 2013 with 64k. It was only the gasket but they replaced everything. Its not cheap though for labor

My 2014 X1 (95,000 miles) started leaking oil last month, I presumed it was the valve cover gasket.
The valve cover was CRACKED. The independent shop said they've seen several like this. It's a plastic valve cover. New one is identical to the original so I expect it will fail after a similar period
