Overhead console removal

Has anybody done this in the x1 yet? Usually it's just a series of well hidden clips. Need to get up there to find a switched power source for my v1 radar detector.

Looking to remove the overhead console to repair a broken dome light.
Any tips on the removal?

EDIT: found a couple links with good info

Stick your hand between the headliner and glass in front of the console. You can release the clips in front with your fingers. Look at the pics in those threads for where the two clips are and how they hold the console in. Pretty easy and takes seconds.

Another option.

Remove the black plastic rings around the map lights. They just snap out and pop back in. If you look through the hole, towards the windshield, you can see the back of the clips, with a small gap on the side. Straighten a paper clip with a small right angle bend, stick it carefully in the gap and position it so you can pull back the clip (away from the windshield), and pull. Do the same for the second clip and get ready to catch the console when it drops.

When replacing it, align the rear of the console first, then push up on the front till the clips engage.

I was able to remove the console, thanks for the tips.

Now I have to source the bulb fitting. I managed to break one of the little metal tabs while trying to install an LED lamp.
BMW parts lists it for €0.61. Not expensive, I just hope they've one in stock.
