Would this require a spacer?
I'm not sure what the offset is on the rims I'm looking at, but i'm being told either 34 or 40.

Thanks!

I must be missing something. I read the thread four different times. The only ones that reference 17's don't post the et, and the one that does is an et20 which will obviously fit...

Did I miss it? I'm specifically looking for a 17x8 with et40.

17x8 et40 will be fine on the back and should clear the strut in the front. It would be a tight fit in the front depending on the tire width/size. My stock tires were 8" wide et30. I moved to a 8.5" et35. that is about 8mm closer to the stut. A 8" et40 would be be 10mm closer to the strut which I would say there is room for 2 more mm . If you tire width selection bulges past the rim it my rub the strut. A tire wider than 225 could rub the strut.

Looking for advice on wheel fitment for a spare set. Came off a 2006 bmw 650 19" m wheels. I believe they are 8.5j x 19 et14 front with 245/40/19. 9j x 19 et14 rear with 275/35/19.

My car is a 2014 X1 Xdrive 35i m sport. With factory staggered 8j x 19 et30 with 225/35 front, 9j x 19 et41 with 255/30 rear.

I don't know wheels well. Will these fit easily?

Thanks in advance!

This was taken shortly after we had snow, so the car is pretty dirty.

I kind of like the look of that. Just don't know that I'd be willing to spend $200 (when you factor shipping) sight unseen for it.

Hello guys

New to the forum from mauritius island. Got an x1 20d 2012. Picked up some ac schnitzer wheels 18 x 8.5. All 4 wheels are same size.

Should i use same tyre size all around since all wheel are same size?

Would 245/45/18 work thanks

Thanks alot

BMW X1 (E84) Widest Tires?

Formerly and X5 4.8L owner. LOVED the big tires Just purchased a 2014 X1 and wish to run 19" wheels and go wider than the stock 225's. I would be most appreciative for some feedback, advice and photos. Thanks.

Those will work fine if the rim offset is a ET30 to ET35.

Garage List
2013 X1  [0.00]
X1 E84 2013, 19” vs 20”. I Want more rubber on show

I am tired of the low profile tyre look.
I have 20” inovit wheels with 235/35/20 all round.
They fit like a dream with no rubbing at all.
However i dont like the tyre look.
I tried swapping one tyre to 255/40/20 just to see what happened.
It looked great and filled the arch beautifully, but it rubbed on the front when turning. Did not rub on the back but this was not tested with a full passenger load.
I want to try swapping to 19” with a fatter tyre.
I propose 8.5” up front with 245/40/19
And 9.5” rear with 275/35/19.

Will this fit? Or rub?

Hey All,

Wondering if anyone here has a staggered setup on their X Drives? I'd like to know what your tire spec is and if you noticed any difference in handling pre/post switch?

And also any problems with the differential, transmission or other components?

Thanks!

I had the same question this week. From what I was able to find, the vast majority of opinions out there are that you’ll overload your center differential with variations in diameter. Not worth it to me. Why not try spacers?

Spacers won't give the meaty look as opposed to wider wheel combo.

Some X Drive models come with staggered setup from the factory--did you get a chance to look into this?

My xdrive came with staggered wheels from the factory. 19x8 & 19x9, 225 40 19 & 255 35 19.

These are the wheels I'm referring to: (not my post)

Found a set of 437Ms in 19x9 29mm / 19x10 40mm. Plan on running 245/35 and 275/30. Can anyone verify that these will work. Thanks.
