I was on a 300 mile road trip from 3000 ft altitude and 91 Oct, to 600 ft and 93 Oct.

When I got there, the gas pedal felt dead. I'd have to keep moving it to get it to go.

Then, I put in the 93 Oct gas, and it started working with better response.

Is car hearing some knock pings?

Shifting lag, then? I'm not sure. If I floor it, it definitely thinks about something before kicking in.

Not really chasing it, more like observing. If I had the lag others are talking about, yeah, then I'd be chasing for a solution. Personally, I find the car pretty responsive, but will go to DS mode if I really need it to be responsive.

I can stab it and make it jump, but my minder doesn't like the bucking effect.

After the better gas, it seemed I could barely push throttle and get movement.
