E90 Engine & Suspension Swap to X1 Xdrive 20D

I’ve got this 2011 X1 Xdrive 20d without an engine & box for a few months now and I’ve now decided to do it up for the Mrs. So just picked up a rear end damaged 2011 320d lci which should be delivered to me in a few days and I plan on swapping the engine and gearbox into the X1. I’m also considering swapping the complete front suspension, including the Subframe,Shocks, Springs....everything. Basically I will be removing the engine on wheels and just installing in the X1. I’ve got no issues with the drivetrain side of things as they are the same, but my question is the suspension.
Will a complete E90 suspension and front axle work on the E84 or will it sit too low and cause rubbing issues? Or am I better off just removing the engine and gearbox only and keep the stock Suspension?

I don't know about the suspension, but I just swapped a 2014 328 engine into my 2012 X1 and the oil pans are not the same. Both cars are x-drive. Seems that the diff on the 3 series is longer than it is on the X1. This could also be caused by the year difference.

Just a little heads up.

Many thanks for the heads up. So did you swap your Oil pans or just kept the one off the 328?
Did you swap the DME or did you use the original one on your car?

I ended up using the X1 oil pan and diff. I only got the long block from the 3 series. I plan on keeping the original DME and harness.

Vacuum pumps are slightly different as well, 2014 did not have a vacuum line off the back like the original 2012 one did.
