Help with Front Differential mounting bolt torque
Guys Im new to the group and need some help.
Do you have information on regards to: - Torque spec for (Qty 4) the front differential bolts that go against the engine block? - Torque Spec for the Engine support bolts that go against the engine block? My car is a 2013 X1 E84 AWD with the 4 cylinder engine (N20) Thanks in advance!!!! |

Hey lilix1, sounds like you are doing a timing chain job? If you are, I attached a nice walk-through post. It is based on the FCP Euro videos with specifics for the AWD cars. I used it for my 2013 N20 xdrive, pretty straightforward.
Unfortunately it doesn't mention a specific torque spec for the front diff mount bolts but I'd say at least 30 ft-lbs is needed. Use judgement, tighten everything equally before stepping up the torque, and you won't strip a bolt. For the engine supports, why are you removing them? Is the engine coming out of the car? I found it's necessary to drop the subframe in order to move the diff and remove the oil pan. https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/n...n-diy.1395027/ |

Hey Thanks for the information and for sharing that other link. I did follow a mix of sources (including that) the timing chain is down, now Im just putting the car back together. Thanks again for the advise

Hey Thanks!!! I used that information and managed to get everything done, drove the car for a while today and sounds great. Will post an update some time later to report any issues.
