Automatic door unlock

Is there a setting somewhere that will unlock all doors when the key comes out of the ignition?

Yes, that's based on the setting to unlock one or all doors when the key on the button is pressed.

So if pressing the button on the key only opens the one door, then taking the key out of the ignition will only unlock one door as well.

It can be done via coding only.

If I'm not mistaken it's an option via iDrive menu.

Edit: the option to unlock all doors or one when unlock button is pressed... If your door currently opens when you eject the key and you have iDrive then no coding necessary. Otherwise coding is needed

There's an iDrive setting to unlock all doors when engine is switched off. Doesn't work for me, though. According to the manual it should work. Made sure the child safety locks were disabled. Fussed with it with a buddy on a recent road trip where we frequently needed to access cargo in the rear. Try as we might, only the front doors would unlock. Read on another forum that a guy coded his doors to unlock but it wouldn't work unless he long-pressed the start/stop button to turn the car off. Didn't work for me, so I believe the "unlock all" function must be coded despite what the manual says. No biggie. Just irritating. I enjoy the comfort access until I need to open the rear doors, in which case I need to hit the unlock button on the dash, dig for my keys, or touch the driver door handle twice.

I have CA and my setup is like this: all doors doors lock as soon as the car starts moving (2 mph) and unlock automatically when i hit the start/stop button without holding it. I coded it myself using bmw coding tools. Let me know if somebody needs all codes associated.

I have CA and had to code it using iCarly to unlock all when I long press on the start/stop button.

I don't see any option on the iDrive on my car except for the unlock button on top of the radio.

Look for option to eject the key as soon as you press srat/stop button. This will give you immediate unlock without holding the button pressed.

I have icarly but can't figure out how to code it. Initially, I had someone code my car with this feature (ignition turn off --> automatically unlock all doors), but when I was playing with icarly, I must've disabled the feature. Now, I can't figure out what exactly I'm supposed to code again?! Help.
