Finally got rid of the run flats!!,!!

Got some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ For my 19 inch equipped m sport. Saved about 250 dollars over the runflats.... and the ride comfort is 100 times better. Turn in is more consistent and less twitchy. I will be driving 500 miles this weekend so more to come.

I’m hoping to change mine for Michelin PS4s when the runflats are finished (not long now!)

I'm not a fan of 19's (ride preference), but a great choice in tires!

Congrats OP. We're definitely dumping the run-flats as soon as they wear out. Hate those things.

Just removed run flats from wife's 2016 X1 at 24,000 miles. Lots of wear life remaining. Installed Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+.

Totally different vehicle! Should have done sooner.

The 19 ride was really harsh and twitchy until I changed to the pilots. They look great but you have to be careful not to scratch them on curbs or off road

What about road noise? I’m going to switch out soon but reading Tire Rack about 10-15% of the people said the AS3+ are really loud on the Hwy.

I made the same switch on my 19 inch M sport. So far I have 8,000 miles on them.

We do not find them noisy. So much quieter than the run flats.

I was going to say something similar. I consider the OEM run flats to be quite noisy, can't imagine the Michelins would be any worse.

No way the ride comfort is waaaaay improved over the pirelli run flats.

Just put 800 miles on mine including some off roading. They are better than the pirellis in every way except maybe this one windy mountain road I drive where the stiffer runflat sidewalks seemed a bit less slip angle. Of course the rf,s are summer tires too.

Sorry, I know this is an old thread, but just wondering about handling when switching to non-run flats.
My garage said they switched an X3 recently but the handling went out of whack and they ended up having to change them back to run flats.
Anyone any experience of this or any advice (maybe it was the tires they used?)

I'd say it's time to look for a new garage. Unless they were bad tires, junk tires or they completely screwed up the sizing; going to non-run flats shouldn't do anything but improve handling.

X3 is xdrive right? So, maybe it was staggered, too? I don't know what they did, but I put Michelin PS4S staggered 225/40r18 and 255/35r18 which is 4% less diameter, and it still rides better than Pirelli P7 run flats. My run flats weren't even that bad, but by time worn at 5 years the rears were slipping on take off. I never get traction control to go off anymore on street.
