Another seized x1 n20

So I just finished replacing the timing chain and guides on my 2012 x1. Guides had exploded and a pile of pieces were sitting in the sump area. Car still ran but oil pressure was very low due to plugged pickup. Anyways everything was cleaned well and replaced. This included the timing chain, guides and oil pump drive chain and guides. Car ran ok upon startup. Drove around the block a few times. Idled fine. No codes.

Took the car to car wash which is about a km away and car died on highway. Just quit. No loud bang. Thought battery died but turns out it is seized. What the hell happened?

When my n55 seized it was between a 2-3 shift. clutch in a revs dropped to 0 and it never turned another rotation.

#1 rod bearing welded solid.

Probably debris in the oil gallery. Plugged a line and that is all it takes.

Sorry about your car.....

That's what I figure exactly. The little bits of the timing guide clogged up the system. F ck

Very sorry to hear about your vehicle. Did a shop do the work, and if so what did they say after it locked up?

Did you get this replaced by BMW under the extended warranty program? If so they should cover the subsequent issues.... Let us know what the outcome was!
