Wheel offset

Time to swap out the winter tires so I'm shopping spare wheels. The choices for aftermarket 34mm offset rims seem pretty slim, but I do like some at TireRack that have a 32mm offset. Anyone try smaller offset rims on their X1 or know if there will be any issues with reducing the offset by 2mm?

Thanks,

Bill in NH

You are fine going with a small offset change in this direction, as this will move your wheels outward.

My track wheels are 30mm combined with being wider (9" vs 7.5") and I have no problems with them.

You will be absolutely fine with these.

Here is a good tool that will give you a quick look at what the changes would be:

Then the 32mm offset will absolutely be fine...

Have you thought about if you are going to stay with the OEM tire size or go to something wider?

I went with 245/45/17 on my summer setup (kept the narrower stock size for my winter tires) and strongly prefer how the can handles with them.

245/45s with the small offset shift will stick out further giving a nice fit and look.
