I still haven't mastered the push the throttle pedal exactly 1/2", pause, try to smoothly accelerate consistently. Sucks gas for a small, fairly lightweight vehicle. Lucky it's still cheap.

2013 X drive, 28. 71,000 miles. Purchased new in March of 2013. I love the car but kind of wish I had bought an X3 instead for more space.

80k miles, still perfect. Its my commuter car, keeping as long as she has no problems. Get about 28mpg highway. Can squeeze close to 30 if i set cruise control to 70, but thats no fun.

117800 klms and still faultless but i change oil every 5000 as i have the diesel 2.3d and was worried about cam chain.
its a fabulous car. i do all maint myself. i recently did the fuel filter which was kinda simple to do once i located it.
best features
1>the power, it hauls
2> the steering. its nice and heavy yet precise.and lovely feedback.
3>idrive even passenger can enter destination ..select radio etc without fingers all over a screen.
4> my wife calls it " Betty May Willson"
5> reliable so far.
dislikes
1>wind noise over 110 klm per hr
2>accept screen every time you start car.
3.> a little low on the road to other sav/suc...whatever it is

for wind noise, check the front hood leaf compartments. I have to clean that every month and found out that was my culprit, and you could buy a hood cover to reduce the noise as well.

Careful with hood covers(the insulation underneath the hood), that will lead to higher engine compartment temperatures. Not sure we want that on a turbo engine.

2014, bought last year at 38000, now at 46000. Blew off the charge pipe, fixed under warranty. No modifications, but new tires coming soon.

Can you please tell me more about the fuel filter change - where exactly it's located, and how to change it. I recently took my X1 to an independent shop to change the fuel filter among other things, and they said the fuel filter is integrated into the fuel system or tank and it's not easily replaceable.
