Is the stealer lying to me?

He told me the oil change interval is 25,000 mi. I say B#ll Shot. I can't find it anywhere, but I remember being told it was 1 year or 15K which ever come first.

With a VIN decoder, you can see your options. In my case, I have S8KLA : Oil service interval 15,000 km/12 months

25K miles? No chance... You would do only 2 oil change before the warranty is over

Never seen anything listed over 15k miles. Personally I wouldn't go over 6k.

Most dealerships refer to the vehicles on board maintenance indicators. My 335i shows 16,000 when reset.

For 2013 it was 1 year or computer which was 15-16K. We never drive our 2013 more than 7,500 in a year but always got a “free” annual oul change until the 4 years ran out. On my 2014 M235 it was one year or computer also but I only drive 3-3,500 a year so I got “free” oil changes every 3,000 or so miles. You dealer is full of shit but why would you still get free oil changes after 4 years. I assume you have an extended maintenance plan so whatever the plan says but never 20+K miles which is total crap.

It should be based on the Condition Based Service (CBS) interval as shown in your dash gauges and notifications. That guy doesn't know what he's talking about if he says 25K.

Dealer might not be lying to you depending on your production date and options. Here is citing from some TSB floating around regarding changes in 2014:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...SWJUIX0VLBnGlV

Quote:
2014 model year vehicles built prior to July 2013 utilized a 15,000 mile/24 month engine oil Condition Based Service (CBS) interval. This interval is triggered by the presence of option code 8KC.

All 2014 model year vehicles produced as of July 2013 will incorporate a new basic interval for the engine oil service. The new CBS interval is every 10,000 miles or 12 months (option code 8KL). The 10,000 mile interval pertains to the gasoline, as well as the new diesel-fueled engines of the 328d and 535d.

He’s got a 2013 model not 2014 just like my 2013 which was 12 months or cbs but cbs would never ever be 25,000.

Did the dealer incorrectly referred to the Canadian maintenance manual? 15000 miles per oil change or about 25000km per oil change...

25000 km/1.6 = 15000 miles

BMW is clever in that the never write 12 months in the maintenance manual but its called a low mileage oil change and they know all about it. About 7 years ago they caught so much shit from Mini owners they had to change the program from 24 months or cbs to 12 months. They were so stupid because they wrote in the owners manual in bold “Oil Must Be Changed Every 12 Months” and then tried to not pay for it when you took it on for the oil change. Needless to say the policy changed to 12 months.
