Brand New To X Series

Alright so I've hopped into to the X series family after rocking a 2009 335ix for awhile. I would like to squeeze as much power out of this car as possible and do a bit of exterior upgrades as well. Problem I am having is I can't find any performance upgrades other than a few tuners. If you guys have any links or suggested vendors please let me know! Thanks!

Advice

Hey guys,

First post on here! Looking to do some mods on my 2014 XDrive28i. Was thinking of doing the KW version 3 suspension, Racechip or JB4 tune, yellow stuff pads, and aFe cold air intake. Has anyone done anything like this or have any advice on other things I should be looking at? The goal is to make it a track day daily driver that will mostly be used at High Plains.

Sounds like you've done a lot of things I'm looking at. How has the race-chip worked out so far?

Hey guys!! Waiting on a 41k used Mineral White Xdrive35i M Sport to be shipped in to Denver. Should arrive in a couple weeks and am super excited to go pick her up!! Basically a fully loaded vehicle that was built in August of 2012, has every option I would've chosen new except two things, no paddle shifters (early build) and no M badges on the fenders. Curious if any other M Sport Owners could chime on and post proper measurements of where they sit on the fenders.. preferably measurements from the bottom edge of the fender and the rearmost edge on both sides would be awesome... I've looked through all the X1 TIS articles about badge placement, and googled my @ss off, but can't find a BMW guide that lists the proper measurements for these. Anyone who can help would be SO greatly appreciated. Oh and yes I know its not a full blown M.... hence why there will be NO M going anywhere else other than the factory installed spot on the fenders.... I have my "not actually an M" US Spec E36 M3 for posing in...

Alpina B3 Flash

Hi I am looking for someone to do an Alpina B3 flash on my 2014 xDrive35i M Sport package e84 X1 because the stock transmission is sooo slow. I took it to a shop in Orange County for the DP and they said it would be easier and cheaper to find someone who could flash the tans on the forums. If you are near Orange County and able to install the flash my email is banksdylan1234@gmail.com

Are you selling your old button? The one on my e93 is in really bad condition and assume yours is intact. Let me know.

do you find large profiles like that make for a harsh ride?

I do it, and I love it so much. I think it's the only one in the world M3 steering wheel with heat(work as factory wheels, with factory heat module in the steering)
before

after

Yes it's upgrade. Do the heat mat for this steering, mount it, new leather, factory heat module, clock spring for heat, lower steering with button. All wiring from WDS
how much?
leather rewrap work around 170-200$
heat module around 50$
work for heat mat 150$

2014 BMW X1 XDRIVE 28I

-H&R sports spring
-Bilstein B6 shock
-powerflex control arm bushing
-apex arc-8 wheels 18X9 et30 square
-continental extreme contact DWS06 235/45/18
-DINAN DINANTRONICS SPORT PERFORMANCE TUNER
-gloss black kidney grill
-M style mirror in gloss black
-joyeauto cic carplay module

next on the to-do list is break pads and rotors. will report back once complete. here are some pictures:

VRSF Charge Pipe

I just installed a VRSF brand charge pipe, does anyone have problems with the pipe fitment?

After I installed the pipe it was pressing against the power steering lines.

What did you guys do to solve the problem if you had the same issue?

It is definitely a weird fitment and I was unhappy with it after installing, but live with it now that I don't worry about it blowing. Though I would've gone with a different brand, had I known prior.

For now I zip tied the line further out of the way, making sure they aren't pinched. I check the line fittings every so often just to make sure they are not leaking. Haven't had any issues for 15k miles.

I ended up taking the pipe out, slipping the silicone sleeve up higher on the CP and rotating the power steering fluid reservoir clockwise a bit. The pipe and lines now have a bit of clearance.

Although that helped, the CP is not fully concentric to the trottle body and it doesn't seat perfectly.

What other CP options were you considering?

I definitely had to work it in there and mess around with the sleeve and clamps for a while to get it seated and satisfied with the fitting, but I'm pretty sure it is well seated without any leaks. I did get a boost leak when the metal plug they include flew out during a 3rd gear pull, and replaced that with a shortened fitted bolt. But now that you mention it, I'll have to do the soapy water test to look for any leaks this week when I detail it. My diverter valve started failing a while ago, so it would be hard to tell. But when it holds- it rips, and boost looks good so I don't think the CP is leaking.

Honestly I don't remember what other brands I was considering, but if I do change this one out, I'll just call the BMS guys and see what they say about theirs. It looks like it might not angle out quite as far as the VRSF pipe does, and could give the steering lines some clearance (I have also had pretty good customer service experiences with them).

True, ill ride this CP out for a while and see how it goes. i bought some stainless steel bands I may attach to the fastening point that the OEM pipe uses but the VRSF pipe does not.

I did a mock up with zip ties and it does pull the pipe into position better when you secure off of that point. I should have thought about the soapy water leak test. I'll try that out as well.

I'll post some pictures after I try all this stuff as well.

Any new photos with the spacers installed? I was looking to get 20mm for the rear and 15mm for the front of my x1 35i m sport too. Very curious to see what it looks like with.
