Need your help to make decisions about keeping my car

Hi everyone, I have an E84 35 Xdrive 2015 model and it has around 62000 Km on it.
It's couple of months that this car is out of warranty. so far I've really enjoyed driving it without a single issue. At this point I want to decide if I should keep the car for next 3 years or not, but my knowledge about car is not enough to make that decision. I want to come out with an estimate of how much I need to spend on the car in next 3 years ? what are the major works that needs to get done on this car between 60K and 120K and do you guys have any estimation of cost of it?
Thank you for your help in advance, really appreciate it.

That's really hard to anticipate. Seeing as you're in Canada I would anticipate your car would need a little more maintenance than the same vehicle where I live. I am at 71,000km and plan to hold onto my car for at least the next three years. I do all maintenance work myself and I expect to spend under $2,000 in the next three years if I exclude modification costs.

Garage List
Are you mechanically inclined enough to work on it yourself, at least for non-major issues (not engine replacement, ac work, etc)? That's a contributing factor with any car.

I have a 2014 same model- your oil filter housing gasket will start leaking soon, I don't know anyone that hasn't had that happen after 70k. It's a pricey repair-at least 1200$ -$1500

Transmission and differential fluid flush will be $600

Other than that I think they are pretty reliable until 120k

There are a bunch of things that can fail. You just don't know if or when they will.

Water pump
Coolant expansion tank
Valve cover gasket
Oil pan gasket
Oil filter housing gasket
Charge pipe failure
Differentials or transmission leak
iDrive issues
Sensors failing

So far I have put 26,000km on my X1 and haven't had a single issue.

do the work yourself and it will be cheap.
mostly fluid changes are what is needed, you cannot predict what will break.
the best preventive is do the maintenance work.

having said that: maintaining the used car is almost always cheaper then buying a NEW car.

When would be the right time to flush tranmission fluid?

Garunteed the oil filter housing gasket will fail before 80,000 miles. That will be a 1200$ repair for sure.

2013 with 137k on the clock. Amazing reliable car. 2 sets of tires, front and rear brakes at 100k. Oil change every 10k. No problems with the oil filter gasket. Alot of highway miles, I am sure that helps. Original tranny fluid, not changing it book says its lifetime. Best car I have ever owned!! Drives like its brand new.

So you did not do Transmission and differential fluid flush, and that did not cause any issue for you? also luckily your engine did not have oil leakage issue assuming you have same N55 3 litter turbo engine

The maintenance and repair cost associated to a car of this age should not exceed the cost of a brand new equivalent replacement car.
