Charge Pipe & OCC Recommendation?

Hey, all. It's been a while so I wanted to see what the current verdict is:

1. Charge pipe (N55) - Evolution Raceworks still the one to go with? I'm at 56k on the clock and figure I might as well finally do this.

2. Oil Catch Can - Like I said, I'm at 56k...in general (and pretending I have much fewer miles), is it worth putting an OCC in for the N55? Several years back, it didn't seem like it but maybe opinion has changed. Also, reading the literature for ECS' and Turner's kits (identical)...is it really an issue leaving them in over the winters in our nation's wintry climates?

What say ye?

Also, since it looks like the IC has to come out anyways....might be worth it to swap that out, too. Recommendations on intercoolers?

Is that even worth it if I don't have a tune or anything? I'm basically stock at this point.

You wouldn't remove the IC for a charge pipe or OCC. I did the VRSF charge pipe and Burger tuning catch can.

For fitment reasons I would plan to run with the same manufacture. I had the ER chargepipe with the VRSF intercooler and upper chargepipe and the fitment between the two wasn't great.

Think he really needs an intercooler though?

In any case, 20% off ER products.

Thnx for the replies, guys. It seems that AA, VSRF, and ER are more or less equal all around. The main differentiator thus far seemed to just be the ER CP having a flange for the a mount point like the stock CP.

Wrt OCC, maybe a day late and a dollar short at 56k w/o one, but is that worth doing? In the early days it seemed to not be.

Wrt FMIC, I'm open to it. I may pull the trigger on a JB4 at some point. I wouldn't plan to push massive #'s, just get some more pep out of it.

Anyone that plans to go WOT for more than a single gear should replace the intercooler. The stock unit is really insufficient. I did a 1/4 mile pull on 12 psi with an intake and tune only. by 4th gear my timing advance was 0 or less (cannot see less than 0 with the JB4) and the AFR was 10:1 to try and cool the combustion chamber.

Went w/ the VSRF CP. Mike from X-HP was very helpful. I did have some initial fitment issues due to the outer coating:

1. being on the inner lip where the CP mates to the throttle body
2. being thick on one side where the retainer clip is meant to recess into

In both cases, careful filing had to occur.

After taking out the airbox and duct, it went in easily.

Curious, but the part of the duct/pipe that connects between the CP and IC is plastic. How come this section isn't replaced as well?

Also, I noticed a little bit of oil in my stock, plastic CP. I don't know that I should be expecting that...

How bad is the fitment? I already have the ER chargepipe with the stock IC and am considering upgrading to either the VRSF 5" stepped for $399 vs $490 for a Wagner 5" stepped that retains the OEM connections.
