Good Aftermarket Battery?

my 2013 X1 x28i has had a couple long crank starts over the last few days so I am in the market for a new battery.

Who makes good aftermarket battery's? I'm not looking to pay the premium that comes with BMW OEM on a battery. I also have a friend that can register the battery for me after I change it.

Thanks!

I just replaced mine last week.
Went with an AGM from O'Reilly's since I have a business account there.
170 out the door.

I have a 2014 X1 35 I. I went to Autozone and bought a Durant's Platinum 190$ out the door. Switched it out myself in 30 minutes. Hook another battery to your terminals in the front so you don't have to reset stuff when you unhook the old one

If you're experiencing long cranks in cold weather that doesn't necessary mean you have bad battery. Make sure you have long drives often to charge it. I'm saying this because most of the X1s come with an AGM battery which is very durable and long lasting.

If you change your battery with the same type make sure you register it. This is required to instruct the Intelligent battery sensor (or system) IBS that there's a new battery and to charge it properly as new.

If you're upgrading or downgrading make sure to code it and register it. Coding is required to instruct the IBS to charge the new battery per new specs.

Bigger than the stock battery? This is one of the biggest SOBs I've seen in a consumer car. I think I'l stick with the same when my 5 yr old battery can't crank (as I have mostly highway miles anyway at 35+ miles/direction).

I've so far only had it not crank because I was in ACC for over 30 minutes while replacing 2 of my wiper pumps. I've recharged it, so we'll see how it goes.

How about Costco agms? I used their non-agm Kirkland batteries on my other cars and they are great. 10 yr warranty too. Pricing is usually decent.

I prefer to shop at Costco, Costco has Interstate batteries. I’ve searched their site and it said they don’t have a battery for my BMW. In other vehicles, I’ve had good and bad luck there with non agm. I had one that failed after 3 months and had to return it.

Call me cheap but I've used a Walmart EverStart battery for my wife's X3 and my Mini Cooper S and they work great. Look up BMW EverStart, I've see nothing but good reviews. Plus $150-$165 for a better w/ a 3-5 year replacement warranty, Why not give it a shot.

Not sure if cheap is the right word but do you bother to register the battery or know its AH or agm or not?

Anyone can recommend a good battery that works well with Carly Adapter?
I plan to replace the battery and register it myself.

Just get the same AGM battery that came with the car and you should be fine.
