I thought that V.O. was such a flashy color that it would only look right on a coupe, but your photos clearly show otherwise.

Our build is as follows:

X1 xdrive28i
M sport line
Lighting package
Premium package
Technology package
black leather seats
light fineline wood trim
heated seats
M sport steering wheel with paddle shifters

We went in to the dealership on Saturday to talk numbers with our S.A. not expecting any X1s to be in yet. As soon as he saw us walking up he waves (knows us both by name 3 years after selling me my 335...don't find that at most dealerships) and points to a black X1 xdrive35i (jesus BMW has to stop with the lengthy naming conventions). It looked much better and smaller than we expected. Drove well, more body roll than either of us are used to, but comfortable and relatively sporty. Wife is coming from a lowered and tuned GTI with H&R super sport springs/Koni yellows so she's used to cornering like she's on rails. She was seriously considering a 2013 Golf R but after a little time in the X1 she decided to sacrifice a little sportiness for a little more refinement...at least thats how she explained it. We're told to expect a November delivery. West coasters have to suffer as the ship goes through the Panama canal.

Beamerboi, i'd like to hear your thoughts on how the M sport suspension feels...Did you drive an X1 without that you can compare it to?

Thanks.
The M sport suspension feels super! I like driving this car almost better than my x6. The x6 was of course more cushiony ride. As I have said before the x1 is like if the X6 and the 135i was to have sex and have a kid..

I will say Im more excited with this car than the x6..

Great looking car OP

You should definitely go with the black grilles. It looks great with the black trim around the windows and the contrast with the VO looks great too.

How about debadging? IMO it would look so much better without the X1 on the back and the letters and numbers on the front doors.

Nice car !! Stopped by my bMW dealership yesterday and saw the X1 35i in black and also White and Blue.....I was a bit puzzled why there is no MSport Package in any of them...is it not offered?..I was equally puzzled why there is no paddle shifters as well....If this is true than there is no 6mt not paddles shifting? If that is the case this would be a major blunder on BMW's deal...I really like the size and the X1 especially next to the X3 and X5 whick look much larger than the X1......

Do not add mud flaps as they don't really help and they simply look horrible.

Congrats on your new car, it looks fantastic!

Going a little crazy on the fake blurring but other than that - love it. Did you order it? Can you take a pic of the pano sunroof from inside the car?? Hows the engine/handling?

Looks awesome!! The only thing that worries me about this car is the tranny choice by BMW. To make matters worse, it looks like you don't get paddles on the 35i M Sport but do on the 28i M Sport. What gives?!

Im still working on that about the paddle shifters as I did order them but now Im discovering with a lot of others here that your sales rep need to put in a special code for them to be added.........

Yeah kinda.

I'm not saying the photography is bad, it's quite good. Just not 'some of the best' because I noticed the post-processing blurring.

Nice X1 with the m-sport package.

You went over the top with the fake photoshop blurring. I know you put time into editing the pictures, but in this case it just looks over the top, cheezy, and quite distracting. I see what you are trying to go for though (a crisp focused car and blurred background). Why don't you get a prime lens and shoot at a low f-stop? Perhaps a 35mm f/1.4. I appologize if I come off rude, but I'm just being honest.

Good grief. They're car pics, not outdoor pics or some sort of entry into a photo contest. I kind of like that he blurred out the background. If I wanted to see a bad picture of the car with a nice, clear backgroud, I'd go look at cars.com.

Nice car, it's nice to see real pics of VO on the X1 and these accomplish that nicely, thanks.

Like I said these were fast pics!
Im a professional photographer by trade. I have prime glass out the ying yang. from nikon 24/ 1.2 to 200 /2.2 The focus here is not the Fu%^&ing blur background! JEZZZ! it's the CAR!
If I'd been requested or hired to shoot this car for $$$ then I'd scoped out a great landscape area and shot it like I know how to shoot without having to blur the background in respect to my neighborhood!
