Not specifically an X1, but there are plenty of posts with people running it with the N55 in other models. For example:

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1348316

There is also a Dinan Sport version that works with the N20/N26/N55 (cheap plug... I know someone that has one for sale ). Personally I like having the bluetooth connectivity with the Dinan and not having to open up the device every time you want to change the setting.

Those are F series cars though. Looking to definitively find out if it works on a pwg N55 X1.

Post 28 here (by Terry @ Burger) says it works with all N20 & N55 engines.

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...t=41187&page=2

If you still don't feel sure of the answer, I would just reach out to him to get a definitive response.

Well, it certainly doesn't work on all N55s. They released a beta for 2011+ N55 cars like the 135, etc., years ago and then pulled it back.

Emailed Terry/Burger, I got a sales rep saying no, and then when I asked if they were going to update the website, they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Not putting much faith in a sales rep, but thinking they simply need to pull the N55 X1 off the list.

First off, it's much more expensive, so not a comparable product.

But to the point, the car has had two different JB4s on it. It currently has one on it as we speak.

Both JB4s (fully updated) slowly run the water pump after the car shuts off. Kills the battery after a few days. It's a common problem, and all the common solutions (rewiring the power, etc.) hasn't solved it. Burger has no answer.

So, as it's my wife's car, I wanted to throw on something simple that would give a little more get-up (which she likes), without the hassle of battery issues, pulling it on and off for CPO repairs, etc.

As the car sits now, I have to charge it every 4-5 days.

If we keep it, I'll probably send the DME off to be benched flashed and go MHD...until then, just looking for a <$150 solution to keep it fun.

Interesting. I get a 387F code related to battery draw that I've been getting since ive had the jb4. I can still start the car after 4-5 days but the voltage is quite low.

I had a friend help with my install. He installed on his 535 with no issues. Are you sure you wired it correctly?

I've had the JB4 on the car for 4 years. However, the car was parked outside (ambient noise) and was driven almost daily. As the draw on the battery is very slight, and the electronic whine/buzz from the pump very, very slight (not like a full running pump, just a hum)...I just never noticed an issue.

Last year we moved into a building with an underground parking lot, and the car is driven once a week at most.

In the quiet garage, I noticed the faint electronic buzz and had both the original and a new battery draw flat after like a week of sitting.

You can pull the ground on and off of the JB4 and shut the pump on and off in real time. So it's definitely the JB4. Tried another one, same thing. No solution from Terry.

I don't know how someone could "wire" it incorrectly. But yes, they were installed correctly, and function perfectly for 4+ years...sans the pump drain (which is a somewhat common problem people experience).

That's unfortunate. I'm still running a pre ISO version, no issues with the waterpump. Do you want to try flashing an older version of the ISO firmware (pre CAT CEL fix removal)? I have the firmware and installer if you do.

I'm going Mhd myself just to see how flash only is. I have jb4 and mhd on my 135i n54 and it definitely isn't running the pump. I wonder if that's an n55 only bug?

I really should send out my ecu soon.

I owe you an apology. Just got back from a 2100 mile road trip. Had to jump my car twice. Only then did I notice the water pump running while the car was turned off. Just replaced my battery and emailed burger.

I guess mine has been running and I never noticed.

Did the power bypass today. Water pump is no longer running unless the car is running. Will be driving it this week. Hopefully past the issues.

Where did you take the power for the jb4? I saw a water pump fix pic for a "12V solenoid". Is that the boost solenoid?

I had similar issues when running the JB4. I noticed the FSB was always powered on. If I didn't drive the car for a week the battery would be almost dead. I almost got stranded at the airport parking lot.

I'd be curious to see if my battery draw down and code 387F are resolved.

So, back on topic. Anyone use the JB+ on an N55? Seems like not.

Power line modification worked. Code 387f (abnormal power drain) no longer present. Thanks to everyone that posted about this issue in this thread.
