DINAN for N20 has arrived!
Just heard from Dinan, N20 Dinantronics is now available for N20 powered cars with mechanical wastegates. Availability for the electronic wastegates should be Christmas time or earlier.
312HP, 330 lbs-ft! http://dinancars.com/product/d440-16...ries&mid=1182/

Dyno date is October 28th. I doubt I'll be more than 275. But that's WHP, I doubt the Dinan numbers are WHP.

Good for Dinan for getting something out for the N20 finally. Their numbers are almost always more conservative than other tuners and a lot of that has to do with a warranty coverage. They don't want your car breaking any more than you do.
Best setup would be to get it through a local Dinan authorized dealership, that way they usually deal with any issues and you never hear anything. I know my local BMW dealership who installed all of my Dinan mods on my X6 ended up replacing both of my turbos and all connecting pipes on it at around 32K miles to try and solve some excess oil use and my Dinan mods never came into question with them. As one may guess that wasn't a cheap repair either. Gives me hope if I decide to go to a N20 model BMW in the future to help with gas mileage. Although I'm still happy with the 35i.

I have emailed and called Dinan trying to get more info and a timeline if this will be extended to the X1 N20/N26. I have had no luck. Horrid customer service.

They're in the process of acquiring an N20 powered car with the electronic waste gate. Once released, they may not mention the X1, although it will work. I need have a problem getting a hold of them.

There are some interesting discussions on the following thread:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1031638&page=7 Dinan talks about the power difference between N20 and N26 (+24 Hp at 6,000 rpm in stock trim) Last edited by Njerts; 11-14-2014 at 10:12 AM.. |

I don't think the X1 N20/N26 is different.
But I could be wrong. |

The N20 in the X1 is the exact same as the N20 in the F30. With the exception of some mechanical plumbing for the intake and heater hoses etc.. The computer programming is no different.
About the numbers. I feel like we're being lied to by Dinan. I've seen many stock 328 dyno results and I have yet to see anything seriously north of 230 WHP, they claim 266. That's ridiculous. Something is fudged with their results for both stock trim and their tune. 266 WHP would be just over 310 crank, 320 WHP would be almost 375 crank. That's crazy numbers for this engine, plain and simple. I know BMW is a little on the conservative side for power numbers, but I highly doubt they'd be 25% off. I'll be interested to see the increase in power with my car, if it will be over the JB4 or not. I'll try to get into a different dyno shop when I get home from work this next week. I'll also get them to run the car with just the intake on. Then I'll go back to them once I have the Dinan stuff and compare all the data. As of right now, the shop I just used to dyno with BMS JB4 had no idea what they were doing and I can see that there was way too much heat in my intake tract looking at the results, hopefully I'll have stronger, more accurate numbers from this second place which specializes in VW/Audi and not Subaru/GTR.

Dinan always lists his products as WHP.
