Steven "BMW Steve" Marsh | 1958 - 2009
"He was an engineer at Ford Motor Company, but he loved BMW automobiles. The family of a motoring fanatic have built him a tomb in the shape of a shiny black BMW [M3] - complete with personalized number plate. His friends even added a parking ticket to the monument for good measure. Staff at the privately owned Manor Park Cemetery gave permission for the unusual tomb after discussions with his family. The centerpiece of the memorial is a number plate reading: "STEVE 1". The granite scale model, which had to be imported from the Far East, cost around £50,000. Weighing one ton, the BMW sculpture had to be lowered over Mr. Marsh's grave by crane in an operation involving 20 people."   |

One of the Muskoka Steamships cruised past our dock this afternoon on the way through the locks at Port Carling and then up to Rosseau. Wenonah II is a newer ship built in 2002 to replace the original that was abandoned in 1886.
