I know it won't make the wait any shorter, but maybe easier, I hope. If any one is in the same boat (literally or figuratively), I'd like to commiserate/get updates/et cetera. It seems a lot of people in this thread were taking delivery on the west coast. I'm in Iowa - the no-coast part of the country.
I had to wait on a dealer allocation, resulting in a month idle (from 11/30). On 12/31, I heard that my car was scheduled to enter production soon and there were a few days left to make modifications (tempting, but did not). 1/25 - got the production code and the VIN. Checked bmwusa and it reads "Your vehicle has left the plant and is ready to ship." Dealer still claims mid- to late-February. Does anyone have a sense if that is realistic? I've given up on it arriving early . . . Thanks Last edited by MrSnrub; 01-29-2013 at 03:17 PM.. |

MrSnrub, first, I support your suggestion to invest in Springfield Nuclear.
I feel your pain. I ordered 12/20, and on 1/10 slots opened. My order has been in status 112 for almost two weeks. I try to tell myself, it's less winter for the new car to deal with, but it doesn't make the waiting and checking any easier. Congrats though on your car being ready to ship! I'm still waiting for mine to be built! |

My car is on a boat called California Highway... It is in Baltimore right now and will be in Georgia tomorrow to drop my car off. I am guessing mine won't be the only one being dropped off in Brunswick, GA but I can think that way. Hopefully it will be to the dealer by the weekend but I am thinking next week some time.

I ordered 2 days ago and call-in system said estimated completion date is February 8, so hopefully the dealer will have it by March 8, unless there's a delay in getting it on the boat.

My X1 is on a ship heading to California. When we ordered the car he said to expect at least 50 days before delivery. We ordered during the holidays, so add some extra days...

While many use this site to track vessels:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais it seems to be somewhat flaky with ship "dissapearing" or being not in range. Here is another one: http://www.vesselfinder.com Just enter vessel name and click track. |

Ship Last Seen Thru Panama Canal
My X1 is on the Gentle Leader Ship, due to arrive in Long Beach around 2/27. Dealership expects it the next week, but, need to wait for SA to return from vacation, so probably won't get it until 3/12...Bum.
After ship went thru the Panama Canal we lost tracking as it is out of range. When will it get back in range? The next port is San Diego around 2/25. |
