it is unknown at this stage who controls the 2%. regardless, it doesn't affect me and I will never know. it's possible the Thai person gave it up to the Austrians as they are actually running the business while he appears to be a sleeping partner to me, though i am most likely wrong.

Oh dear. It seems to be a reverse Waterloo. What a mess. Keep in mind the idiots that fired Horner probably have no idea what it takes to manage an F1 team at such a high level and for so long. Only Ross Brawn possibly had more tenure and management skill. Such types of men are very hard to find and replace, and from what I see on the video Horner's rapid replacement is made of Jello.

Max Verstappen's father Jos wanted to play a bigger role in the Red Bull hierarchy but Horner didn't want him involved.
Jos eventually went for the nuclear option of threatening that Max would leave for Mercedes (hence the leaked meetings) if Horner stayed.

However without Horner (and Newey whose departure was also partly blamed on Horner) Red Bull is finished...so Max will likely leave for Mercedes in any case.

i see the sacking as leverage by RB to ensure Max will stay, instigated by Jos' 'ultimatum' / final threat

but RB without Horner is not a good thing being so close to 2026, most people think 2026 will be a write off without Horner.

if Max is also 'most people' (2026 is a write off without Horner) then he would sign for Mercedes (Piquet Jr has revealed Mercedes has made him a good offer, they are now negotiating the fine prints only).

i don't see any reason for Max to stay, and Jos would have completed the anhilation of RB.

meanwhile Horner is believed to be owed a severance packge of 50 million pounds that is currently being negotiated.

If Max leaves for team MERC (or another team) then Horner's dismissal has nothing to do with Max/Jos' opinion.
