Did a tour of Castelo de Silves today and had lunch there. Then I did the hill climb from Foia / Serra de Monchique from Caldas de Monchique and had dessert at the top.
Not to many pictures on the way up because the wife was being a back driver

Man, I couldn't believe how fast the cyclists and bikers were going up and down that hill. On the way down the cyclists were passing me . They were braking and sliding on the turns that I thought some of them were going to wipe out. I wasn't going fast, but still, they were passing me like I was standing still. Here's the view at the top. And of course on the way back I had to check out the local race track

That doesn't look anything like the only salt mine I've ever been in.

I drove on the coast yesterday from Carvoeiro to Bordeira, and I stopped at so many beaches on the way that I lost count. If I had to guess, I would say at least 15-20 I ate Lapas on the beach off the rocks in Sagres surfing beach. Something I had not done since I was a young boy.

Picture of the Cingino Dam, 160 ft high and no problem for Alpine Ibex. The dam was built with salty stones, which the goats crave. Coincidentally the saltiest stones are near the top.

Did a private boat tour yesterday along the Algarve coast from Albufeira to Carvoeiro.
(A must if you want to see most of the caves, as the big tour boats do not go into the smaller caves) The natural rock formations that has been shaped over millions of years are spectacular. We went into caves that I thought the boat was not going to fit through the entrance
