My X1 28i sdrive M sport was ordered 9/15/2012 and the phone system says it is still not scheduled for production. I absolutely have to get it by the end of November. Should I be worried or do something more with my dealer? It's my first time ordering one.

I'd say yes, you should contact your dealer for an explanation. I ordered mine 9/22 at Beverly Hills BMW. I didn't get any info for a few days. next i knew, it was in production. And yesterday it came out of production and is ready to ship.
Just a guess but maybe your dealer has no open allocation slots for a while? |

Mine went into production three days after I ordered it. I wanted to change something and it was already too late by the time I called. It's in Charleston now, about 5 weeks after I ordered it.

My X1 is finally on the water. Left Bremerhaven on the NYK Line ship Trident Leader on Saturday. Due in port here in California on November 6th. So for those keeping score:
Ordered September 17 In Production September 20 Complete September 26 Shipped Out October 13 Due in Port November 6 That should mean order to delivery time of 8 weeks, assuming that it takes about a week to process the car at the port/dealer. Best of all that means the car should be in my hands before my Thanksgiving drive to my in-laws. |

Here's our basic timeline: ordered 8/26, finished production 9/6, departed Bremerhaven 9/15, passed through Panama canal 9/29, arrived Port Hueneme (Los Angeles) 10/9, picking it up in Washington State today at 11a.m. (10/17).

Ordered Tuesday, October 2.
Deposit charged Thursday, October 4. Got a production number from the dealer on Friday, October 12. Production number still not accepted by the bmwusa site as per Wednesday, October 17. Is it just me, or is this slooow? |

also the phone system still states "at port awaiting for vessel" and the website states it's in "finishing touches"...not yet "at dealership" which is the final step. hmm.... |

For what it's worth, the online tracking system was 2 days behind actual status for my build during the "Finishing touches" and "At dealer" milestones.
