I was helping my Father in Law clean out some things yesterday when we came across some very old (late 1800s?) pics of his great great grand parents and some portraits and stills on collodion plates. Some of the other pics seem to be a little later and on Gelatin Silver plates (I think). Anyway, I thought they were cool and worth sharing. They're from the Reading, PA area when the railroad industry was booming. I did find a blurb on J.D. Strunk who operated a cabinet card studio from 1888 to 1910 and has some civil war photos in the Library of Congress. One of the other portraits was taken by Ammom M. Lease who operated a studio Reading in 1900 - 1901

Today in traffic. The blue hatchback that has a bloody nose from not stopping in time + two police cars and a broken down tow truck = a much longer drive than expected.

Boulders exposed at Lake Erie near Port Clinton, Ohio. High winds with the Lake being low pushed water further from shore and exposed this and others. Normally covered by 6 to 9 ft of water.
