It'll drop back fairly soon I expect. I've yet to try EcoPro on the interstate, must remember to engage it next time I drive on a trip in the wife's buggy.

On the flip side: I recently made some road trips (Harison Lake, Okanagan Lake) and was pleasantly surprised with highway fuel consumption. The trip to Harison Lake showed a fuel consumption of 7.7l/100km (30.5 mpg) when driving a secondary highway (70-90 km/h) and 8.8l/100km (26.7 mpg) on the TransCanada Highway (100-120 km/h). Not bad for a 2L turbo with 240hp! The trip to the Okanagan showed an avg of 9.8 l/100km (24 mpg) and that while doing an average of 115 km/h (72 mph) through the Cascade mountains. For those not familiar: One way this is almost 400km (250mi) of which 265km (165mi) is mountains with a total 4360m (14295ft) ascent and 4046m (13265ft) descent. Not bad for a car fully loaded with camping gear and a family. The drive was a joy as the X1 ride is much more car like then X3 we had. PS Some one suggested not to use cruise control in mountain driving. I found the cruise control very effective on down hill stretches. No braking needed, and obviously almost no fuel consumption! |

12.1 mpg
Halfway through my first tank in a 2014 X1 sDrive..
100 something miles driven, all in the city in LA.. Traffic, lots of stop signs, traffic lights etc.. Computer says 12.1 mpg! Granted I've been blasting off from traffic lights occasionally and driving this car like a little race car with the paddle shifters. The first 1/4 of a tank was averaging 10mpg, then it jumped to 11mpg, and now Im at half it's at 12.1mpg.. Will keep you guys posted on the upcoming improvements.. Im guessing will take 2-3k miles for the real mpg to kick in. |

If you want to save your brakes going down the long stretches of Coquihalla, shift down instead. Brake failure or overheating is a major cause of accident on that particular road As for fuel saving, it's frequent small hills where cruise control doesn't do so well - it will give gas on every small uphill and brake on every small downhill, when you could just crest them on the momentum. |

But yeah, rest your foot on the brake all the way down to the valley, and you'll suddenly go down a lot faster than you intended |

19 - 21
My 2013 X1 is about to reach 9K & i drive mostly in city (60% city - 40% hwy).
but this mini beast is giving me a variable milage from 19 - 21. I didn't used eco-pro much until now & didn't recorded a full tank milage on hwy, but i'm planning to do so this week & will update you all once i drove a full tank on hwy with a eco-pro mode. but either way i'm not much worried about milage cause for me it seems X1 is doing lot better than some 328 with same power engines. |

Just returned from an approx 3,000 mile trip from Germany through Denmark to Norway and back through The Netherlands and France. The MPG seemed to settle out around 29 MPG with a loaded vehicle (4 adults and enough German Beer and wine to minimize Norway's alcohol costs). Highway speeds were around 75-80 MPH. I don't think that was to bad (didn't bother with ECO Mode).

I did a trip from Calgary to Vancouver. Started out with 279 kms on the dial. Ended the trip with an average of 28mpg and just about 2800 kms on the car. Really impressed with how it drove up the mountain roads and how little gas it used.

Quite happy with my highway MPG. This weekend I drove from Galveston, Texas to Denton, Texas. Trip computer reports 37.3 MPG. For most of the drive, the cruise control was set to 68 MPH.

I just finished a trip this last weekend and decided to use the car's trip computer in the Nav unit to calculate it, so take that for whatever it's worth. It was 197 miles in distance. Trip computer said avg speed was 72.6mph (a lot was running 90+mph) and it got 25.3mpg. That was burning 93 oct fuel with a Dinan stage II tune and vehicle just turned over 7K miles.

11k miles on '13 X1. Mileage started slow, but consistantly get over 30mpg, mostly hwy, cruise control locked at 70mph. Love the car, very happy.
