Made both breakfast and dinner in the Kamado Joe today. Simple but delicious omelette in the cast iron skillet, along with tomahawk pork chops.

Looks delicious! How are you liking the Kamado Joe? Is the Classic II sufficient for your needs or do you wish you went for the Big Joe?

Just an FYI for everyone firing up the grill this weekend: the Kamado Joe Big Block lump charcoal is on sale at Lowes. I highly recommend these!

Reverse-seared a 1.2 pound New York Strip over the weekend, using pecan wood. Came out absolutely lovely. And yes, I like my steak medium.

Did a 1.7 pound bone-in ribeye steak yesterday. Smoked it on pecan at about 275F, then seared it at 700F.

I need a new grill to replace my 10 year old about to fall apart gas grill. I can't justify spending several hundred dollars on one, though. I guess another cheap sub $200 gas grill is my only option?

Do you want another gas grill? Are you looking to switch to charcoal?

Back when OSH existed I bought this. 5 Burner, rotis, and a side burner. It was on one of the holiday sales. I think it ended up being around $300, it has been awesome, it is 7 years old now, its at the cabin, so it doesn't get used every week. Its starting to show its age a little, but it was a great buy.
Not sure if this brand exists elsewhere, but I have seen other that look almost the same under different names. Here is their web site http://www.huntingtonbbq.com/ |
