I believe the farewell lights you were referring to are the same welcome lights.
Try hitting the trunk release button on the remote twice. Or open and then close the car with the remote. Oh and I think you have to leave the lights in auto l automatic mode, if you leave them off it won't work. |

Try again. A good guy. I wasn't able to set an appointment as easily as the OP but he was able to code my 1M quickly. N I'm here just checking on what I can get done on my X1 since I already have the cable. Debating learning doing this myself. |

Especially with your X1 (assuming an N55?)...the Alpina trans flash alone makes it worth the time.

I finally got around to coding my car with BMWhat.
Nice app, made everything really easy and got it coded in about ten minutes :-D Plus I found the diagnostic options in the app to be very impressive. It's not cheap but totally worth it. |

How much in total did that cost you? I've been looking at getting it but its like 40 for the app and 40 for the cable, right?

Yeah that's about right.
Make sure you get the V2 Bluetooth adapter though as the other one won't let you code iDrive (I still have the disclaimer on mine because of that :-(.... ) |

Good to know, did it allow you to do all the codings the OP had? Main ones i really want are unlock when engine shuts off, removal of all the warnings for nav/idrive, and auto-folding mirrors.

Yep, all but iDrive.
Check their website for the exact list. Even things like convertible options are codable (not that they apply...lol) Search for iCarly BMWhat and you'll get the site. Correction: BMWhat can code iDrive, my adapter couldn't Last edited by vstolpner; 02-17-2016 at 01:47 AM.. |

Depends on your mobile OS. Android users Bluetooth adapter while iOS uses WiFi. Check the My Carly website for details.
I think most eBay adapters would but your risking causing serious damage to your car with a cheap faulty adapter. |

I'm wondering if there is any reason to pick up an iCarly adapter and BMWhat if I've already had my car coded?
I wouldn't mine changing to the corrected speed (wasn't on the list when I had mine done by Alex) and maybe adjusting the turn signal flash count, but I can really live with it as it is. |

It obviously depends on your own cost/benefit, but if you need any other incentives then keep in mind that does full diagnostics and can check each and every ECU in the car (came back with 38 ECU's on mine), and clear any fault codes that would otherwise not trip the check engine light.
Also if you ever decide to change the battery, or do your own servicing you'll need it to reset the computer. |

I received the cable last week and set up an appointment with Alex. He flew through the coding and finished before our scheduled appointment time.
The options I choose were: Real time MPG in gauge cluster Fold in Mirrors immediately when doors are locked Disable Seat Belt Chimes (both) Windows up/down & closing/opening of sunroof with key Folding Mirrors with key Unlock doors when engine is turned off Removal of Amber Headlight Sidemarkers (Euro Look, will only come on when you signal) Fog Lamps with High Beams (Fog lights will not shut off when high beams are activated) Disable Key In Ignition Gong (no gong when key is in ignition and door is open) Digital Speed Display (Speed will be displayed in numbers center of the cluster, added option does not remove anything, M3 style) Cluster lights always on (M3 style) iDrive/Navigation Options: Enable DVDinMotion (Watch DVDs at any speed)(For 2009+ cars only) Removal of iDrive Disclaimer Message (no more pushing accept when first starting the car) |
