Hello,
i want to buy these wheels ( http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...50&hg=36&fg=15 ) to use as my winter setup on my X1 but i want to be sure these will fit on the vehicle... How can i know the inner diameter? somebody says that the x1 need 16'' of inner clearance.. Do you think these wheels will fit? 8JX17 ET:46 Thanks!! |

I just started another thread regarding lug bolt size but thought I would ask here too. What's the OEM bolt length for our cars, 28mm? Also, what's the thread size? I know some newer BMW's use 14x1.25 instead of 12x1.5 like its always been. I need some info so I can buy my extended bolts. Thanks! |

As you've had this wheel & tire for some time, have you been pretty happy with them? Too, I'm not familiar with MSW, are they a known-to-be-reputable brand (i.e., well constructed, etc). |

I'd say they are so far so good... Nothing very impressive but no issue or concern at all. It serves its purpose well.
The MSW is by OZ and this is the reason I am willing to go for. I've never heard of this brand before making this purchase. Back then the price was the primary driver of my decision about which set to go for |

My local BMW dealer charges $2200 + NJ sales tax for rims/winter tires. Storage is included and no charge to get them swapped on and off.
My wife will be driving it primarily and is a bit nervous in the snow. Since the M Line comes with summer tires, winter tires are a must. Through BMW the other option is to special order "All Seasons" for an extra $600. I'm not convinced that the all seasons would be enough for the the xDrive X1 in snowy conditions. What do you think, especially those of you who've driven in snow with the X1, or 3 or 1 series Beemers with X Drive? Last edited by Bmwlvr60; 10-05-2012 at 09:49 AM.. Reason: adding a question |

17'' rtx berlin doesn't fit X1
Just to let everyone knows,
i bought some used 17 inches RTX Berlin for my winter setup and the wheel doesn't clear the front caliper... Obviously, the person who sold them to me assured me that those would fit.. What is the cheapest place to buy some MSW wheels in Canada (Quebec, Qc)? tirerack? Thanks |

Still well worth it, I think, as it allows me more sidewall during winter. |

I finally snapped a pic of my Michelin X-ice3 tires on stock wheels. Not that it looks that special... I've said it before, but I really dig these stock 17s.
Here's two fall photos with my M3 in winter mode (18's) and our X1. |

During winter you want narrower tires and a higher profile. Diameter doesn't make much of a difference for winter/snow/ice situations but most people go smaller rims to save money. I'll be sticking with the stock 18x8 225/r18/45 tires for summer and then get the same sized rims for winter tires. I'm very experienced in winter driving and for me I'd prefer a little more width for winter driving when there is no snow/ice/slush and be more careful when there is. If it were my wifes car I'd be putting on say 17 or 18 inch wheels with 7.5" width as she never pushes a car near 20% of its potential. |

Just put BBS CF's on with Michelin X-ice for winter, nice rims and car is actually quieter and rides nicer with the X ice tires than it was with the original goodyear run flats that came on the car.
Car will never see runflats again, only 2 times in my life i had issues with tires are with the RunFlats. They are noisy and expensive |

I'm not as knowledgable as you guys, and I remember reading once that my 2013 35i M Sport has larger brakes than the 28i's... if that's true, will I need to look at 18" or will 17" still fit?

17s Well fit. The m sport and no line 35i share the same brakes. Make sure you check caliper clearance as not every wheel's barrel will clear

I was about to ship Four X-ice XI3 from tire rack on rims for approximately 1260 $. What I do is I ship them to Ogdensburg UPS Store I cross the border(which is and hour not even from ottawa) And i save about 200-300$ on shipping and duty. The only thing i forgot about the runflat tire ... do you guys have any suggestion for good runflat tire. 17" or 18"??? thanks I dont want to be last minute again...
