A driver slamming on brakes at a green traffic lights for no reason, causing the car in front of me to emergency brake and swerve as i was changing lanes, caused me to rear end another car!
Not best pleased as you can imagine, waiting to speak to a claims handler tomorrow from my insurance. Insurance being insurance this is going to go against me too which is a PITA! |

Not sure why, but I get this maybe twice a year. Every time just as I am applying throttle. I have to go to the side, turn of the car for a few minutes and restart--car is back to normal. |

Will hopefully flush the system soon with better brake fluid when I replace my brakes up front. |

So to keep this thread alive.
I have got the car back from the body shop and they seem to have done a job I'm satisfied with, although they did kerb one of my wheels which they admitted liability too and they repaired this free of charge. At my request I asked them not to drill holes in my front bumper to put the front plate on, so I made a number plate up at work and took it to the body shop with some double sided tape. This will be coming off at some point soon when the car gets a clean up so I can remove any residue without ruining the new paint. I topped up my oil at work and screenwash. How exciting. Also bled the brake system and topped up the brake fluid recently. I'm going on a 600 mile round trip next week to visit family so just checked over a few bits. I have a hole in my hub which has been cross threaded which I am in the process of resolving too. Ordering black grilles from BMW end of this month and then it will be on to my steering wheel and brake upgrades and taking it easy for a while and just enjoying the car. Oh and chopping so arch / fender liner out because it is chomping my tyres. |

So my grilles came from BMW today.
My front arch mouldings are metal pop riveted on so taking them off today was out of the question. So we got the cutter out. They made it on safely with a bit of fiddling around. |

So I spent yesterday at a mates house, trimmed back some of the arch moulding and rear arch skim to stop the scrubbing, also removed the 15mm spacers for now.
Few pics. Took the front plate off and attempted to start removing the doubled sided tape left over but it was stuck on tough. So acquired a toffee wheel at work and will remove it that way later on today. Everywith was sanded and smoothed off and the mouldings were put back on tiger seal where cut and cable ties for now for the holes where the plastic rivets were, ordering those from BMW. With the rear spacers off the car actually feels better in corners on the A roads to. Will be getting cleaned up Friday for Goodwood on Saturday for players classic event. |

Went to Goodwood Motor Circuit yesterday.
Cleaned the car briefly Friday after work.. Couple from the show that I have came across.. This photo was taken before the wheels were wiped down. Oh and I forgot to apply tyre shine. Amateur mistake. Have bought an oil filter from BMW and some Millers Oil from OpieOils so will get that changed this week. Will get a tyre changed over and hopefully get my new plastic pop rivets put in this week too. This Saturday coming I am heading to Waterstock in Oxford for a show too. |

Too bad your on the other side of the pond.
How did you like the coils? Thinking about picking up a set for myself. Did they come with adjustable camber up front? |

Loving the progress! The last batch of photos are great. Are you running no fender liners in the front arches? I am curious if there is anything behind there, especially on the front portion.

Good to know, I was a little hesitant as I've aways gone with koni's for their plushness. The included adjustable camber up front sold me.

Nice X1 mate.
Do you still have photos of your car using the BC Racing coilovers? I have one E84 and i'm thinking of getting those. But would like to see a photo... The other ones you posted are not showing... Internet.... |
