I dont know why but I would LOVE this car with the new 3.0 clean diesel. 306hp and 442lb torque would feel real nice. Towing shouldnt be a problem.

Love it! Its exactly what I was hoping for. Well... the front on the white one looks a little Pontiac Montana-ish, but Im sure its much better in person. I cant wait! Definitely going to buy if I can hold out on an SUV till then.

Go check out the interior of a similarly equipped Ford Explorer, and then get back to us.

I actually like it
Give it time. I bet when we see it in real life it will be quite nice. Just curious as to how similar in styling the front is to the the next generation x3.

First of all from what I read in an investment magazine is that BMW and Mercedes have been having huge drops in their sales. Thus, they needed to come up with alternatives ASAP to bring back their market up. And so they brought the 1 series and now this X1 to the states with the intention to just get some sales going.
I don't know why many of you believe it to look good because to me it looks rushed and UGLY. As you can see the Drive gear box is not even the updated version as in the new vehicles on the road (like the Z4s). The design is just TERRIBLE! I even think the X6 looks ugly too. And now these random GT versions of the 5 series and 3 series coming over... geez I think Mercedes and Audi's nowadays look just way better than all the new BMWs coming out. The only one that I believe looks good in the line up still is the X5, 3 series coupe, M5 and that's it. And well the new Z4 actually is hands down a beautiful car too. Other than those This is just my .02 cents. I mean beauty is the eye of the beholder. Only simply stating my mind. And it looks as if there is no trunk space and prolly heavier than the 1 series... Honestly, this X1 to me is a joke.

The design looks pretty athletic and typical BMW. I have a few issues: the coated plastic bumpers (black front and silver skid plate back and sides) make the car look cheap. Maybe the ZSP will have body color? The fog lights are out of place.
Interior looks good in general, but the black plastic surfaces of the HVAC look cheap with the light leather interior, and the rear passengers don't get HVAC control. The biggest questions are: What versions will be offered in the U.S.? Will RWD be available (probably not)? What about 6MT (hopefully)? And what about diesel (although X128 is probably just fine)? At least you can do ED on this one. Compare to the elegant new Z4, I guess for the entry level SAV this is all what you'll get. Wonder how the Audi Q3 will stack up.
