The front strut lower diameter where it actually sits in the spindle is larger on the X1 kit as well. You can opt for swift springs with the BC kits, and they do offer a kit with independent compression and rebound adjustment. I've been running the regular BR kit on my X1 for a few months and have two track days on it with no issues. I'm actually scheduled to be driving it at Sebring again this weekend. I've provided BC with feedback over the past few months and so far we've changed the rear shock valving once, and the rear spring twice. I'm now running a progressive rate rear spring and the car is much more comfortable on the street. It's been pretty great on the track so far but we'll see this weekend if the progressive rear spring hurts that at all. |

Thanks guys for the feedback. I am really torn on what to do because I am extremely spoiled with the AST 5300's on my M3! I don't want to lower the car a great deal, but I want the suspension to really work. Not sure I want to go crazy with subframe bushings and rear sway bar like I did on my 135i, but I sure did like those changes on that car!
Can't wait for feedback on the JRZ setup. I am intrigued by the BC Racing setup as well, but a little skeptical as to whether or not I'd be happy with it. The price is definitely right, though. I am currently talking with Hanchey Vehicle Technologies about what options I would have with their dampers.

Are upgraded roll bar(s) even worth doing with the stock subframe bushings? Will stock 135i M-sport parts bolt up?

The rear M3 sway bar and bushing fit but the endlinks are too long. We actually substituted metal aftermarket Subaru STI endlinks and they fit PERFECTLY. The sway bar and subframe bushings make a huge difference,

Late Question
Hi Activ3,
Thought I was done with wheels but changing mind again. Could you tell me your year, model type etc. and the original wheel, ET and tyre set up. Thanks. |
