Ordered August 20. Left Bremerhaven on the Otello on September 18. Due to arrive at Port of Baltimore on September 30. Since my dealer is in Maryland, I hope to have it fairly soon thereafter.

Completed Sept 6th. Mine is on Otello, arrive Baltimore Sept 30th. I think lower than NJ & higher than SC area are on this line.

Ordered our X1 Sep.11, and as of Sep.21 is still showing as "ordered documented" when checking the production # on bmwusa.com, and dealer tells me the order status is "112". Curious if this is just the website not being updated, or if there is a production backlog. Noticing that many posters see their vehicles start production a few days after ordering. Curious how quickly the production status is updated.

I am finding out that an X1 making it to port in the US - or at least West Coast - doesn't mean it is quickly on its way to your dealership. An X1 already allocated to my local dealer that I had initially planned to purchase (before deciding to order an X1) arrived last Wednesday 9/19 at Port Hueneme. I am pretty sure of that, having used the excellent tracking info available. But that X1 is apparently still sitting there as of today, one week later. The dealership gently asked me just a day ago if I would still be interested in purchasing that car, but still couldn't tell me when it would be at the dealership.
Maybe that's typical? Or maybe that X1 is actually lost? I'll check to see if it ever shows up at the local dealer... |

There's a shipment of X1s on the Garnet Leader, bound for Port Hueneme tonight. Check Marinetraffic.com and search for the ship name.
And, yes, your advisor should be able to tell you the ship name. Last edited by Au111; 09-26-2012 at 07:30 PM.. |

Here is an article on the VDC at Oxnard. Apparently the pics are no longer supported by BMWblog...bummer. Briefly talks about the process once cars arrive:
http://www.bmwblog.com/2006/12/22/di...m-the-factory/ What tirpitz said is correct, cars that have already been sold are considered priority one cars and will generally be processed before other cars. |

According to various ship tracking/port websites the Antares Leader is scheduled to arrive at Cristobal, Panama at 0500 GMT (10:00 P.M. Pacific time) on the 29th of Sept. Cristobal is the port just before the main canal in the Panama canal. There is an additional set of locks further west, the miraflores locks. Both have webcams. I am pretty sure at some point we can figure out what time our ship is scheduled to transit through the canal. If i'm able to figure it out and am free I will try to capture some screenshots when the ship goes through.

Took 4 business days from booking to delivery (pune, India)
Of course, the caveat is that I selected a pre-packaged version that the dealer already had in his warehouse |

what are the chances? I woke up a half hour ago after working mids, got on the computer to see if I could find the ship, it was at Cristobal, Panama at 8:00 P.M. Pacific time last night. Couldn't find anything on the ship tracking websites. Went to the Panama Canal cams, first one was down...second one at the Gatun locks...Boom, I see a ship that looks just like the Antares Leader. As it keeps moving forward I see the name. This shot is from aprox 3:00 P.M. pacific time on Saturday the 29th.

Also noticed that some marine traffic websites are now stating that the Antares Leader is supposed to hit Port Hueneme on 10/8 instead of 10/10? I can't wait!!
