The stance isn't right. It's long and somewhat high off the ground, but not high enough or tall enough. So it looks odd. But its not as low as a 5-series GT. It's in that in between zone where its not quite a car, not quite a SUV either. I'm not feeling it. I think the fog lights look fine. The grille could be stretched a bit wider and it would look better. The grille is plenty tall enough. But it almost looks round-ish instead of stretched out oval-ish. All in all, it doesn't look that good to me. How come Audi can design better than BMW? Q5 is worlds ahead of this, even if it may appear a bit generic. At least it looks good in a subtle type of way. |

yeah, the windshield is too steep, and the hood is too long, something about the combo isn't meshing well. I'd buy one for my wife. Can't argue with BMW engineering, the look may grow on me, the 3 series did this one might.

Boy is that dull and uninspiring. Are we missing a bumper? I hope so because otherwise that nose looks like it ran into a wall and the cheap looking plastic trim doen't impress either. It's basically not much more than a small X3 which itself is about as sexy as a fire hydrant. So this is what they decided Americans wanted instead of the hatches.

Eh well they are right. American's are buying a lot of small SUV's now. They just messed up the design.

The concept and design make me angry.
I loved the look and useability of the 1 series 5 door hatchback but Munich said not here. Now they spend a lot of money making an uglier version of same. Who are they kidding? Just send the 1-five door over. |

This small road looks very familiar. Remember some of the first E90 facelift pics.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=e90+facelift]"][/URL] Anyways the styling doesn't look too bad, but certainly nothing special. It is probably aimed at buyers who want an affordable bimmer and think they need AWD, rather than trying to appeal to the enthusiasts. My guess is that a turbo 4-cyl will be in that thing. |

I am all for flaming crappy designs but there is something about this that I think once it is officially released it will ok. I think the concept is spot on, there is a growing demand for vehicles fitting into this once niche market. Only time will tell for my final opinion.

There's no presence unlike the current X5 or X6. The current 1er 5 door hatch has good lines and presence.
I will make final judgement when everything is off. May be all it needs is a little bit of wax. At the moment it looks like a bar fridge.
