I ordered mine, it came really fast (thanks Bimmerfox), and installed it in 5 minutes. A child could install it... with a ladder.
This really dresses the engine compartment and provides sound insulation that is needed, especially on the turbo 4 version. |

APO is USA as far as USPS is concerned. Just can't ship UPS or FedEx.

X1 underhood blanket
Got mine today. Less than 24 hours to my door. Bill's daytime job is as a packaging engineer for UPS. Wonderful job! Even the UPS driver was in stitches as he carried this marvel up the walkway. It did the job perfectly as my sound insulation, which was double wrapped in a plastic envelope was in perfect condition and looked like it came from Leipzig.
I was so excited that I installed it in the rain! Now my X1 looks like a BMW with the hood open. Now my X1 sounds like a BMW when I slam the hood and it is a bit more quiet when I drive it. Why do you ask was this not included with the original purchase?? Beats me, but now it is where it belongs, and it looks "Box Stock". Nice job Bill! Keep up the good work. I smile every time I think about it!! Now my X1 is complete. Last edited by 1friendly; 05-22-2014 at 08:17 PM.. Reason: prior error with gif |

Received mine yesterday
Thanks Bill! Shipped right away, received in 3 days, installed in 5 minutes. I definitely notice less engine noise, though I bought it more to keep my hood from getting so hot. Why did BMW stop building cars with these? They used to think they were necessary (else why would they ever have existed), but now they don't? My E90 came without one too, so I installed one. Just feels more correct to have a heat shield on the underside of the hood. The sound reduction is a plus.

I'll be in Sydney 9th-24th Sept. And I'll be in Chatswood on Sunday 13th Sept.
I think it's best if I hand carry it, saved you shipping cost. Let me check with my supplier the price of the underhood blanket. I'll get back to you. Btw, this is my mobile no +6287877228804 |
