Try it hopefully all is ok. It was just surprising the coding was intact meaning the modules have not been touched. Removing or adding an option to the car require VO coding which will put all parameters to stock.

I had mine done. It took 2 weeks to get it correct. The combox would not keep its connection and the dealer went through three seperate boxes. I have not noticed any faster connection and service is spotty at best.

well I indeed had a experience with the retrofit.
my 2014 x1 was in the shop for nearly 2 weeks. when they first reprogrammed it it wouldn't start instead it simply called 911. the issue was escalated to bmw regional center and ultimately got fixed by a software fix. I was not complaining because i got a 2016 loaner. the loaner was a f platform and contrary to my expectation pleasant. incidentaly the bluetooth music connection never used to work properly. I found the same issue in the 2016 loaner too. however after the software fix the bluetooth media connection works much better |

Got mine done on Friday. My fiancée took the car to the dealership. BT worked with her IPhone on the way back, but it wouldn't hold a connection with my Android at home, then it started dropping the connection with her phone too. Remote app doesn't work either. Why is BMW having so many problems with this retrofit?

I notice my phone doesn't seem to stream as well anymore. It sometimes seems like it plays at 1.5x speed. I've gotta pause it from the phone and play it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I'm a little pissed. I run an encrypted galaxy s4 for work, and now I've gotta start the process on deciding on a new phone. :/ Freaking BMW. I'm getting tired of the bullsh*t from them already. My 2010 Genesis Coupe streamed anything I wanted it to, but my luxury SUV won't!? Why can't I play video's, like on youtube, through bluetooth in my car(audio only, obviously). |
