Check Your Pipes Off The Turbo/intercooler
CIWS, Your 100% correct!!
Called another BMW Dealer an 1 hour away that was a Dinan installer and they had no problem replacing the parts. And now that I see the Charge Pipe and Pipe off the Turbo which is the WEAKEST, They are thin cheap plastic, I would recommend everyone inspect these parts especially if your running a Performance tune, you could be leaking small amounts of boost and know it. The wastegate ended up to be OK, the two leaks were the charge pipe, and the worst was off the Turbo. Its right under the Ele. Wastegate. |

SGEAR's charge pipe and boost pipe
Just got my charge pipe and boost pipe from SGEAR industrial Ltd for $300 from Taiwan to US (they accept PayPal; secure transaction!). Kayo from SGEAR was very knowledgeable and respectful. They were the only vendors who sold charge pipes and boost pipes for the N20 BMW X1. Will let you know ASAP after I install them!
Side note; I previously bought a N20 charge pipe from Evolution Racewerks from a vendor in Las Vegas. He told me that it fits all N20 engines, turns out those don't fit the BMW X1. Got a refund, and then received a call from the sales rep directly from Evolution Racewerks saying that they are currently working on a charge pipe for N20 BMW X1. They said they need to borrow a N20 BMW X1 to build the charge pipe so anyone living in California willing to lend their X1, contact them (christine@evolutionracewerks.com)! I believe she said they'll give the charge pipe to the X1 lender really cheap. |

I also bought the charge pipe + boost pipe from sgear. The welds look nice, i did the install. Hardest one for me was turbo side but got it. The only downside is that is touching what i think is a coolant plug anything else is good. Would like to mount a boost gauge to see if it does not leak boost

Did you get a dry or oiled filter? The oiled filter will require you to keep your MAF clean. The dry is a lot less maintenance.

Hello Twix! I did buy the dry filter. Had issues with oiled filter before with K&N and it messed up my ZHP. I noticed your car you have AC Schnitzer springs are you using stock shocks? Sorry going of topic here I have my H&R springs sitting in my garage not sure if it's ok to use stock shocks Thanks! By the way love your set up on the x1. Oh how big of a difference is the Dinan Tune on 28i engines. Is it worth it?

The intake won't cause any issues for you, nor will running stock shocks with lowered springs. The springs don't lower enough to damage the shocks at an accelerated rate. Make sure to get an alignment right after. I had mine installed as part of my purchase deal, currently 53000 kms on them with no issues besides the ACS springs being stiff.
Dinan is a big difference over stock, coupled with the down pipe boost comes on really hard. I also ran JB4, which, was much better bang for your buck over Dinan. The car becomes an animal with JB4. Dinan is more noticeable in part throttle situations which is good around town. It's worth it to me just for the warranty, out of warranty I'd be putting my JB4 back in.

I'm interested in getting these pipes, but I feel that with my stage 1 burger tune and afe stage 2 intake, I am getting surging from the boost not holding all the way. I think I am running into diverter valve issue not holding. The charge pipes look like they will help smooth out after I come up with a DV replacement.
