So... 9 years & 10 months into ownership and the X1 has been part-ex'd 163300 miles in the end, of which I drove it for 156200 of those
Sad to see the 'old girl' go, but I now have something slightly better… 2018 X3 30d M Sport with... M Sport Pro Pack Visibility Pack Pro Nav Park Assist 21" 726i Alloys Sun Protection Glass It has lots of 'toys', a beast of an engine, and finally after many years of driving I have an infotainment screen in my car J. |

Glad I check in on this thread after 5 years. I ended up lemon law'ing my 2013 X1 35i.
It was in the shop (BMW dealer) due to a few problems. Failed valve cover and evap. Then it had a transfer case whine. They clocked the transfer case which solved the problem for about 60 miles. I took it back and they ordered up a new transfer case from the factory. X1 sat for about a month waiting for it to arrive. They installed it and about 100 miles in, it started whining again. All confirmed by the techs and it wasn't my imagination. BMW ended up buying it back with no issues. Well over 10k in repairs in 14 months. All CPO repaired. I was so sorry to let it go, but I wasn't going to keep it thinking that there would be a major repair in the future. What I think happened was a slightly out of alignment of the output shaft on the transmission. It was putting undo side load pressure on the input bearings of the t-case. Who knows. Now I am thinking of getting another one. I really loved that car. Was one of my favorite cars I have ever owned. |

Just rolled across 116k km..... about 72k miles. Just did plugs a few weeks ago.
All good so far. Still hate the noisy n20 clickity-clack when cold. |

approaching 100k miles. acquired CPO from 3-yr lease. daily driver. peppy with decent mileage and good enough in the snow we occasionally get in eastern PA. Got rid of the run-flats, added a DINANSport tuner, did the timing chain service, brakes, and tinted the windows to cut down on the summer heat from the all-black interior. that's it. booor-ring.

Just bought a 2014 X1 xDrive 28i with 23,500mi yesterday from a neighbor who was moving. We got my wife a 2012 X3 a few years ago, which was our first BMW and we both love. As fan of wagons (much to my wife's chagrin), I like that the X1 is a little more compact. Very excited to drive it around!
