Garage List
This race further solidifies how ridiculous the McLaren is. It took less than one full lap for PIA to pull 3-5 seconds on VER after the overtake and then from there both McLaren's pulling out 30+ seconds through the rain with relative ease.

We have to start talking about where the MCL39 sits all-time, especially at the end of a set of regulations where cars/teams should be more equal, instead the MCL39 is head/shoulders above the rest of the grid while everyone is still struggling between races trying to find a decent set up.

lol Max is supposedly the best in the wet and has literally the only car that can match McLaren on pace most days, and still spun off multiple times and lost the podium.

Dude is nothing without the fastest car.

Norris also decided to do something today, McLaren is such a crap outfit. Two midfield drivers in the fastest car and they struggle constantly. Makes Lewis accomplishments even more amazing in context.

You know very well that MAX ran with an extreme low downforce setup to get a higher topspeed at the straights.
And you know very well that a low downforce setup really s@cks in heavy rain.
You would know it , if you watched the qualifying . MAX ran the pole with a RB21 microscopic rear wing to get a higher topspeed.

I would not watch quali if I was a Lewis fan either. Leclerc has been kicking his ass. Luckily for Lewis he had his home track this weekend.

You must have missed all the commentary on quali about how the redbull was set up for a dry race and little downforce. Rain ruined the balance of the car it was a miracle he kept it on track as much as he did.

McLaren were setup quite well for the rain today, running much more downforce than Max and others. The McLarens are rocket ships, with mediocre driver lineup. They should not have lost a race this year.

He knows, it is just his little character he plays on here.

Losing a bit of fun, since Lewis is a shell of his former self.

Patting him on the back for bottling the race? Dude put all his eggs in one basket and lost not only 1st place, podium and to "Hamilton"

Two midfield drivers that are kicking EVERYONE's butt right now, and the only guy with a car that has equal pace knocked himself out of the race. It's a pathetic showing.

More about the deliberate incident from Piastri and MAX ..

Piastri braked at the straight on between turns 14 and 15 and that was under the green flag when the SC pulled back in.

Some details from Piastri's telemetry data :
Piastri braked on the straight from 218 km/h to 52 km/h without a valid reason just to trap MAX (!)
Piastri's brake brake pressure was 59.2 PSI (!)
MAX had to avoid a collision in the spray and in a very poor visibility and lost it (!)

Piastri's 10 sec. penalty was very cheap . Considering the deliberate danger he caused in the heavy rain .
Piastri should have been black flagged (!)

Max's spinout had nothing to do with Oscar. I was watching a live feed and they made sure to clarify that.

They were pretty clear with commentary that the slow down intention by Piastri was to deliberately cool max’s tires prior to the restart.

Had piastri done so in a non dangerous manner it would have been genius.

8 points between Piastri and Norris

the FIA wanted to close up the gap and did just that!

also some crazy driving by the midfield and back markers trying to play bumper cars!

interesting theory. he slowed down (too much) the moment he became the 'safety car'. first you get 'safety car ending' - which means when the lights on the top of the SC goes off, P1 becomes the 'SC' to control the pace. Oscar wanted to bunch up the pack ASAP because the SC lights went off very late. if he didn't bunch them up Max and Lando will get a tow off him and overtake at the overtake line.

but the FIA has spoken, and 8 points between the top 2. it might come down to PU reliability when they add up the points

Really happy for him. Well deserved after all those races and he has done it after starting the race at P19.
