Does a bicycle fit in the back of an X1?
A few questions for all you cyclists out there:
Has anybody tried putting a bicycle into the back of their X1? Will it fit lying down? Do you have to take the front wheel off your bike? Just how long is the cargo bed with the rear seats folded flat? Thanks very much. Last edited by iwantanx; 05-11-2011 at 06:41 AM.. |

I didn't try to get my roadie in the back of the car with the front wheel on but it obviously easily fits with the front wheel off and the seat laid down.

In general, and I think I have said this before, if you want to get an idea of the size of the X1 think of a 3-series estate thats a bit taller. The X1 has slightly more space in the back but the two have almost the exact same dimensions. The X1 is not a big car by NA standards.

The only way to fit a road bike is with all the rear seats laid down and without the fornt wheel, I wanted to fit it by just putting down the middle seat so it would be easier but it is not high enough.

Must mean my wife has a small bike as it goes in with all the wheels on.
