I thought people loved the iSweep2000 pads I have 7500 miles. Do i need to change rotors with new pads or can i just get the pads changed on used rotors?

Consider buying them from FCPEuro.com where they come with a lifetime replacement warranty. Swapping pads will be fine on your rotors.

My wheels are ceramic coated, and getting dust and grime off them is super easy. At most +1 wheel cleaner spraying cycle, then rinse off, then done. Quote:
If you do, you can clean the inner barrels that you can access, then drive the car 2" forward and clean the areas that you previously couldn't. Or, just buy gun-metal grey wheels, and you won't be able to see the brake dust! HTH, a

Have you checked out the Microfiber Madness Incredibrush flat?
I have seen this before when deciding if I needed that brush but Nah, I force a microfiber towel in with my digits, but I don't have those nightmare wheels. Calipers and 18" wheels but still tight on E84. In the video he makes it work on the 666s. I just use an EZ detail brush large for drum work, behind the spokes and rotor hat. I put a new coat of CQUK3 every 6 months on wheels swap and use Akebono pads so I really dont have to try to hard cleaning my 7 split spoke wheels Last edited by spazzz; 05-22-2025 at 02:17 AM.. |

Greetings,
There are several more posts regarding cleaning your wheels. However, in brief: 1. Griot’s Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner 2. Use a variety of brushes, woolies, etc. and make some home-made brushes to get behind the huge caliper. Microfiber towel hot glued to a paint stick will get behind the calipers. 3. Use Griot’s Garage Ceramic Wash…water will slide right off… 4. Blow dry with your battery powered or electric leaf or car blower. 5. The next day, use Griot’s Ceramic Spray Wax and clean wheels with microfiber towel. 6. Apply Griot’s Ceramic Tire Dressing. 7. Don’t drive the car for two months…but look at those wheels and admire - yes, sarcasm. 8. No affiliation with Griot’s…just like their products. Good luck, Semper Fi |

Among the many different microfiber brushes designed for wheels that I have bought, I have one of these that didn't work to well as designed but mine has a removeable cover so I took the cover off and use it regularly for the spokes and the inside part (barrel). For the barrel, I just sort of drag it along the inside perimeter of the wheel by hand. I also bought a bag of cheap 100% cotton gloves off Amazon and use my fingers to get to the crevices and corners that the brushes don't get. You can reuse the gloves or just throw them away since they are hard to get 100% clean after using them.
Mine are the silver 930M wheels and I likely will need to jack the car up every year or so to completely clean the inside barrels - Or, better yet, pay a detailer to do this. ![]() |

I hate cleaning these wheels. I think I would rather them be matte black and not glossy. The wheels on my wife’s new MB are going to be just as bad. I have no idea how I will get to clean inside of the MB wheels.

Power washing isn't good enough. The dirt has to be agitated as well. Brake Buster worked just as well as P21s Wheel Cleaner and is cheap. So, that is what I use. Again, just spraying and power washing doesn't clean the wheels. It will get some dirt off, not all.

You should have your wheels ceramic coated, you would be surprised to see how much it helps, not to mention changing out the OEM brake pads for carbon ceramic pads.

Even minimal detail machining on a wheel makes it a pain to clean. One of the main reasons I opted for a simple 10 spoke design on my incoming wheels.
Will ceramic coat them before mounting but im thinking I should tape off surfaces the wheel weights might need to go on. Anyone have any advice whether it matters or should I wait to coat until after mounting?

At least the black part of the wheels on the MB are matte black. With the glossy BMW wheels above, you have to use something soft like a wheel whoolie or boars hair brush. Anything harder will mar the finish. You can't use this:

They certainly don't care if it makes it more difficult to clean the barrels of the wheels. |
