Link to the pads plz

I thought people loved the iSweep2000 pads

I have 7500 miles. Do i need to change rotors with new pads or can i just get the pads changed on used rotors?

See if pads are available for your model:https://www.akebonobrakes.com/

Consider buying them from FCPEuro.com where they come with a lifetime replacement warranty.

Swapping pads will be fine on your rotors.

Seems there are no applications for M2 front pads

Between my 18" wheels and M Performance brakes, there's no room for my hand either between the caliper and barrel so I do this too. I wear gloves so the dust shields don't cut my hand to hell. About once a month I'll take the wheels off to thoroughly clean them. I use a $30 motorcycle wheel stand to hold and spin them.

As I explained in my earlier post, and also gave you a recommendation for a pad that's nearly as good.

Besides changing to iSweep2000 or buying new $5000 wheels, how do y'all clean your wheels
Occasionally, with regular car shampoo after spraying some wheel cleaner or iron remover.
Or not at all - brake dust is a sign of a properly working brake system!

WTF is iSweep2000?

Seams like you are using reasonable products.
Are you sure you are not over-reacting?

I do that after swapping between winter<->summer wheel sets.
My wheels are ceramic coated, and getting dust and grime off them is super easy. At most +1 wheel cleaner spraying cycle, then rinse off, then done.

I can't get behind the caliper either. I don't care.
If you do, you can clean the inner barrels that you can access, then drive the car 2" forward and clean the areas that you previously couldn't.

Or, just buy gun-metal grey wheels, and you won't be able to see the brake dust!

iSweep1500 or 2000 were the Belle of the ball when i first got my car and there were a bunch of gushing reviews esp about bite, braking & dust

Have you checked out the Microfiber Madness Incredibrush flat?

I have seen this before when deciding if I needed that brush but Nah, I force a microfiber towel in with my digits, but I don't have those nightmare wheels.
Calipers and 18" wheels but still tight on E84.

In the video he makes it work on the 666s.

I just use an EZ detail brush large for drum work, behind the spokes and rotor hat.
I put a new coat of CQUK3 every 6 months on wheels swap and use Akebono pads so I really dont have to try to hard cleaning my 7 split spoke wheels

Greetings,

There are several more posts regarding cleaning your wheels. However, in brief:

1. Griot’s Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner
2. Use a variety of brushes, woolies, etc. and make some home-made brushes to get behind the huge caliper. Microfiber towel hot glued to a paint stick will get behind the calipers.
3. Use Griot’s Garage Ceramic Wash…water will slide right off…
4. Blow dry with your battery powered or electric leaf or car blower.
5. The next day, use Griot’s Ceramic Spray Wax and clean wheels with microfiber towel.
6. Apply Griot’s Ceramic Tire Dressing.
7. Don’t drive the car for two months…but look at those wheels and admire - yes, sarcasm.
8. No affiliation with Griot’s…just like their products.

Good luck,

Semper Fi

Among the many different microfiber brushes designed for wheels that I have bought, I have one of these that didn't work to well as designed but mine has a removeable cover so I took the cover off and use it regularly for the spokes and the inside part (barrel). For the barrel, I just sort of drag it along the inside perimeter of the wheel by hand. I also bought a bag of cheap 100% cotton gloves off Amazon and use my fingers to get to the crevices and corners that the brushes don't get. You can reuse the gloves or just throw them away since they are hard to get 100% clean after using them.

Mine are the silver 930M wheels and I likely will need to jack the car up every year or so to completely clean the inside barrels - Or, better yet, pay a detailer to do this.

I hate cleaning these wheels. I think I would rather them be matte black and not glossy. The wheels on my wife’s new MB are going to be just as bad. I have no idea how I will get to clean inside of the MB wheels.

Multi spoke wheels means you have to have a Karcher power washer.

It is hard to see but between the silver spokes of the MB wheel, there is a black rim blocking access to inside the rim.
Power washing isn't good enough. The dirt has to be agitated as well.
Brake Buster worked just as well as P21s Wheel Cleaner and is cheap. So, that is what I use. Again, just spraying and power washing doesn't clean the wheels. It will get some dirt off, not all.

You should have your wheels ceramic coated, you would be surprised to see how much it helps, not to mention changing out the OEM brake pads for carbon ceramic pads.

Yeah I've seen those rim blocking wheels, that's to keep brake dust inside the rim area and not on the outside of wheels.

Even minimal detail machining on a wheel makes it a pain to clean. One of the main reasons I opted for a simple 10 spoke design on my incoming wheels.

Will ceramic coat them before mounting but im thinking I should tape off surfaces the wheel weights might need to go on.

Anyone have any advice whether it matters or should I wait to coat until after mounting?

My wheels are ceramic coated. Still a chore to clean. And the MB is in the final steps of full PPF, window tint, and ceramic coating wheels.
At least the black part of the wheels on the MB are matte black. With the glossy BMW wheels above, you have to use something soft like a wheel whoolie or boars hair brush.
Anything harder will mar the finish. You can't use this:

Have the 20'' 5 double spoke forged 343M's on my ride and they are easy to clean, an old long handled wash up brush takes care of the inner rims.

I use a wheel brush very similar to this, although it will not fit behind the front calipers on the M3, and it partially fit behind the X5M.

It's for a more aerodynamic wheel for efficiency. That's all manufacturers are striving for.
They certainly don't care if it makes it more difficult to clean the barrels of the wheels.
