OBD reader
Hi,
I have just bought a 2014 BMW X1, a week later I got a message to say the particulate filter needs to be looked at, I’ve used a DPF cleaner and took it on a long motorway drive for around 2 hours, I want an obd sensor to reset the code and see if it comes back on - what is the cheapest obd that will allow me to reset this? I want something cheap as I’ve been quoted £150 for a dpf clean so would do this if the obd is expensive. Thanks |

If its an 'end of life' error it can only be cleared with ISTA and K+DCAN cable, no matter how clean the filter is.
What's your mileage?

It will show the life of your dpf and the soot level. Also the life of the dpf. If your soot level is at 30g you could try and force a regen when engines upto temp and you'll need to be driving above at least 50 mph so get some else to run the app. However if your dpf needs coding out this app bimmerlink and veepeak won't do it. You'll need a coder or ista D which I have no experience in

I’m not sure if it’s related to the DPF, but had an engine message come up but disappeared - would this be related to the dpf? |
