I've been amassing parts for some long over due maintenance and, before heading to work this morning, figured I'd take a look at a couple of things under the hood. I pulled the release lever but didn't get the usual chunky sound upon release. When I went to lift the hood, it wouldn't budge and doesn't raise up so I can get a finger to undo the catch.
If I push down on the driver's side, I can hear a click but not on the passenger side. If I try to lift the hood, I can raise the driver's side (from the area above the headlamp) maybe 1/8". The passenger side does not budge at all. Anyone else run into this? It kind of puts a damper on....well, all the maintenance I wanted to do. I'm guessing the latch is stuck or the catch isn't releasing and am hoping the cable to it didn't somehow break. I'm also hoping I don't need to damage or destroy the hood to get in. EDIT:. Looks like there are ways to try to actuate the latches and pull the bowden cables manually. I'll give those a shot starting w/ the latter. Could someone me humor me by posting a pic showing where exactly the bowden assembly is located?
